Clinical Training
Virginia's clinical education included training at the Touro College Acupuncture Clinic, as well as hospital internships at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn. At Lutheran, she treated inpatients and outpatients in the Labor & Delivery, Oncology, Chronic Pain, Neurology, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, and Geriatrics departments.
In recognition of clinical and educational achievement, Virginia was selected for apprenticeships with 2 master practitioners, under whom she received specialized training in women’s health, infertility, pain management, and gastroenterology.
Clinical Interests
Through her lifelong passion for dance, Virginia naturally engendered tremendous respect and admiration for the power and dynamics of the human body, which ultimately evolved into a keen interest in internal medicine. She has a strong focus on women's health, including the treatment of:

Specialized Post-Graduate Training
Virginia has specialized training in laser therapy for pain management, Chinese medicine for infertility, acupuncture for facial rejuvenation, and orthopedic acupuncture. To further her education and skills in women’s health, she is currently completing certification as a birth doula.
Teaching & Massage
In addition to her credentials in acupuncture and herbal medicine, Virginia is also a licensed massage therapist, trained at the Swedish Institute. She has been an adjunct lecturer at Mercy College, where she co-developed and taught an innovative course integrating shiatsu into the traditional acupuncture curriculum. Virginia also holds a teaching certificate in Traditional Thai Massage from her studies in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Virginia Mims, MS, LAc, earned her Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from Touro College, and her BA in Psychology from Duke University. She is nationally board certified as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine) by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She holds New York State licenses in both Acupuncture and Massage Therapy.
