Does microneedling hurt?
While some areas may be more sensitive than others, the needles are so tiny, the procedure does not hurt! If this is still a concern, topical numbing cream may be applied. We are happy to discuss any concerns during your consultation.
How many sessions will I need?
Typically, 3-6 treatments are recommended for optimal results. Each session is scheduled 3-4 weeks apart. Dr. Mims will work with you to customize your unique treatment plan.
What is the downtime?
There is very little downtime after treatment, which makes it super convenient! Immediately following your session, you will want to avoid direct sunlight for 90 minutes, and you may have some redness for 2-3 days.
What about aftercare?
After a session, your skin will have thousands of open channels which allows for maximum absorption of any product that touches it. Therefore, it is very important to be mindful of what you put on your skin. We can provide skincare and makeup recommendations as well as Procell and TOMA products available for purchase.
